By registering for EDGE Hack 2026, all participants, nominees, and judges agree to comply with the rules, guidelines, and decisions established by the organizing committee in collaboration with San Jose State University and DAMA SF Chapter.
All submissions must be original work created during the hackathon period. Any form of plagiarism, misrepresentation, or use of pre-existing projects without proper disclosure may result in disqualification.
The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify any individual or team that violates event rules, ethical standards, or provides inaccurate or misleading information.
The event schedule, format, judging criteria, and prize structure are subject to change at the sole discretion of the organizers without prior notice.
Participation is open to individuals aged 18 years or older, including students, professionals, and independent developers.
Teams must consist of 1 to 4 members. Individual participants may be assigned to teams at the discretion of the organizers.
All participants must register individually using accurate and verifiable contact information.
Participants are required to attend the event in person on April 25, 2026, unless otherwise specified by the organizers.
Participants retain full ownership of their projects and intellectual property.
By participating, individuals grant EDGE Hack 2026 a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and promote submitted projects, including participant names and affiliations, for marketing, educational, and promotional purposes.
All participants, judges, nominees, and attendees are expected to maintain a professional and respectful environment.
Harassment, discrimination, abusive behavior, or violation of applicable laws or venue policies will result in immediate removal from the event and potential disqualification.
By submitting registration or nomination forms, users consent to the collection and processing of personal information including, but not limited to, name, email address, professional details, and submitted materials.
This information will be used solely for purposes related to event administration, evaluation, communication, and documentation.
The organizers do not sell personal data to third parties. However, information may be shared with affiliated academic partners, evaluation committee members, or service providers strictly for operational purposes.
While reasonable security measures are implemented, the organizers do not guarantee absolute security of submitted information and shall not be liable for unauthorized access, data breaches, or loss of data.
EDGE Hack 2026 — Official Judge Selection Policy
Merit-Based Selection: All judge appointments are made based on professional qualifications, expertise, and demonstrated experience. The selection process is conducted by the organizing committee in collaboration with academic and industry advisors. No guarantee is made regarding selection, and submission of a nomination does not constitute an offer, contract, or obligation for appointment.
Expertise in the Field
Judges must demonstrate strong expertise in areas such as Data Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Enterprise Systems, or related domains through professional experience, research, or technical contributions.
Evaluation Experience
Preference is given to candidates with prior experience in judging, reviewing, mentoring, or evaluating technical or academic work.
Professional Standing
Candidates should hold senior roles in industry or academia or demonstrate equivalent professional recognition.
Contributions & Impact
Evidence of impactful contributions such as publications, patents, open-source work, or leadership in significant projects is considered.
All nominations are reviewed by the organizing committee in coordination with advisors.
The organizers reserve full and final authority to accept, reject, or defer any nomination at their sole discretion without providing justification.
Judges must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and may be restricted from evaluating certain submissions where conflicts exist.
All judges are expected to perform evaluations fairly, objectively, and in accordance with the official judging guidelines.
All submitted materials, personal information, and evaluation discussions are confidential and must not be disclosed without prior authorization.
Participation in EDGE Hack 2026 is voluntary. By participating, all individuals agree that the organizers, affiliates, sponsors, and San Jose State University shall not be held liable for:
